Book Club

With the help of the “Books For All” scheme run by Bookdonors  a community interest company based in Galashiels we have been able to set up a book club. We have several boxes of books  (donated by Bookdonors) available to pupils who want to be part of the club. It’s a varied choice of books (From Bear Grylls to James Patterson to Asterix the Gaul) and it will be refreashed several times a year. The aim is to be a very casual club, pupils can borrow as and when they like. All that’s required is a review of the book they read. This can be as simple as “it was good” or “4 out of 5” or something more in depth if you like. Speak to Mr Smith if you want to see the stock. If enough pupils indicate they would like a more formal review/discussion club I will look at setting up regular lunch time or after school meetings.

News – Penicuik High School LRC is now receiving stock from the Penicuik public library . This is an excellent collaboration which will mean lots of new reading materials for our pupils.  Our thanks to our colleagues in the public library for this. Stock will be refreshed every 2 weeks.
