ANOTHER BAKESALE! – TOMORROW

The S4 Prince’s Trust class are organising a bake sale to raise money for local organisation MYPAS which promotes the health and wellbeing of young people in Midlothian. Please come along and enjoy some cakes and make a donation!  If you are able to donate any baked goods please drop them off in Miss Docherty’s classroom (room 25) the morning of the bake sale.

NEW LIBRARY DISPLAY

Come along and visit our display focusing on raising awareness and informing young people about mental health! There is also a suggestion box there if you have any ideas on how to make the display better, or if you have ideas for another project.

PENICUIK HIGH SCHOOL’S MARIE CURIE AWARENESS MONTH

DRESS DOWN DAY

There will be a dress down day on Thursday 29 March to finish off our awareness month for Marie Curie.  The Charities Committee will come round and collect your pound from your register teacher during period 1.  We are continuing to bring round the daffodils until 29 March.  Thank you for your support, you have helped us raise around £300 so far.  Please remember your £1 donation on Thursday.  Thank you.

MY WORLD OF WORK AMBASSADORS – INTRODUCTORY SESSION THURSDAY 29 MARCH

The named pupils must go straight to the library for period 4 on Thursday this week for their ambassador training session with Gordon Craig from My World of Work.  Please go to the library at the start of lunch instead of during period 4.  If you have any questions about this session, please see Miss Lyon.

REMINDER – NURSING INSIGHT DAY SATURDAY 28 APRIL (S4 – S6)

The NHS is holding a Nursing Insight Day on Saturday 28 April for all students interested in a career within Nursing.  This is a full day event from 9.30am – 3.30pm at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.  Nursing staff will be on hand delivering presentations and practical workshops to students.  If you are interested in attending, please see Mrs Brandie as soon as possible.

REMINDER – BORDERS COLLEGE

Are you considering applying for a course at Borders College?  We are encouraging all potential applicants to Make March Matter by applying now for courses starting at Borders College in August 2018.  Please remember that for the majority of our courses we no longer require a formal interview, but applicants may be required to attend information or skills check day(s) – you can find out more in our Admissions Procedure.  Further details on all full-time courses can be found on our website or by scanning the QR code on the poster.
