YEAR OF KINDNESS

It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice! Enjoy the activities this week and take time to relax and look after yourself over the holidays.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Following a discussion at SMT we have decided that all hoodies – school leavers, school netball team or other – should be removed in all classes from Monday 18 December.  As Friday 22 December is our last day of term this will be designated a non-uniform day.  Christmas themed clothing may be worn if desired.

LATENESS

All pupils are responsible for getting to school on time as lateness undermines good quality learning and teaching. Pupils who are late are reminded that they must attend a breaktime detention in the Assembly Hall.  Failure to attend breaktime detention is being monitored and will result in further sanctions being imposed.

REMINDER – MALAWI PARTNERSHIP – LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION

A reminder that the logo design competition for our partnership with Namadzi Secondary School in Malawi is open to all pupils in the school. We would like you to come up with a design based on the old Scots idea of the “Common Weal” – a term that denotes friendship and compassion with others. Your logo should be recognisably “Scottish”, but you can use any material to design it. Our partners in Malawi are currently doing the same and we hope to combine the winning designs from the two schools to make a single image.  Please hand any designs to Mrs Andrew (Room 12) or Mr Murphy (Music) by Wednesday 20 December.
