Friday 22nd November 2024
As you will be aware, the refurbishment of Penicuik High School necessitates that students are decanted from the 1930’s part of the school building from August 2025, until the conclusion of the works. Internal and independent timetabling exercises have been carried out to ensure that almost all areas can be provided, with the exception of kitchens for Home Economics.
In the Broad General Education (S1-3) students will continue to follow a curriculum that meets their entitlements, including Food and Health experiences and outcomes, through an adapted course. This offers a unique opportunity for new BGE experiences to be built to cater for exciting Senior Phase pathways, when students move into the refurbished building, in addition to creating strong and sustainable partnerships to support the Penicuik High School curriculum.
In the Senior Phase, Home Economics provision at Beeslack High School will be utilised to support those on an SQA pathway, in addition to further options being available through the Midlothian Aligned Curriculum offer.
More information will be shared in due course.
