The National 4 and 5 Construction courses centre on developing our students’ key employability skills prior to entering the world of work. The course units allow students to gain hands-on experience in a wide range of construction-based trades. Through this, they develop new specialist skills and enhance their problem solving, leadership and employability skills. We use our links within the local community to broaden our students’ experience on the course by arranging site visits and inviting local businesses in to talk about their experiences and expectations of the apprentices they hire. The construction course is an excellent foundation towards gaining an apprenticeship.
