If your child is in Primary 7, you should receive an S1 letter at the beginning of November. This letter explains the arrangements for their entry to secondary school in August 2026. If you would like your child to attend an out of catchment secondary school, please visit www.midlothian.gov.uk/placing.

Parents of children transferring from our associated primary schools into S1 will be given the opportunity to be involved in our transition programme during the course of their child’s P7. They will be informed of this programme via a series of letters distributed through their primary school.

Any parent wishing to enrol their child at Penicuik High School, out with the standard transition programme is asked to contact Pupil Placement at Midlothian Council, in the first instance. This can be done either via telephone 0131 271 3733 or email pupil.placement@midlothian.gov.uk

Any potential enrolments into S2/S3/S4/S5/S6 should contact our Senior Leadership Team, in the first instance at the School Office, Penicuik High School or via email Penicuik_hs@midlothian.gov.uk

Office staff will direct parents to the most appropriate member of SLT.
