Sleep is incredibly important for healthy bodies and mind. Try to take a note of how much sleep you get each night this week. Think about small changes you may make to improve the amount of sleep you get.

SILVER DUKE OF EDINBURGH

This is a reminder that all those who signed up should be attending the meetings on Thursday lunchtimes. This is part of your training and is therefore compulsory if you wish to achieve the award.  Also you need to be adding information/evidence to your eDofE account for your Silver and completing any missing info for your Bronze award.

FUNDRAISING GIG

There is going to be a fundraising gig on Thursday 16 November to raise money for Social Bite.  There will be a bake sale at the gig. Tickets are £5 and are available from Burnt Out Records members, the Charities Committee or from the Music Staff Base.  This will take place in the Hub, doors open at 7.00pm.  #10yearsofgigging

Monday 29th May is International Children’s Day. So our RIGHT of the Week this week is quite simply, Article 1: All the rights in the UNCRC are applicable to all children up to the age of 18. Remember, the UNCRC is designed to keep you safe, protect you from harm and ensure you live your life with dignity.

MONEY FOR BITESITE

Pupils should be checking they have money in their Smartcard account early each day. If your balance is low, please contact a parent/carer to bring money in, or ask the office to phone home for you so it can be handed in and put into your account that day.

On the morning of your trip (either Monday or Tuesday) please assemble in Mr Scott’s room. Remember to wear appropriate clothing for outdoor activities and bring a snack. Permission slips that have not yet been returned are now overdue – you must return them to the Science Department as soon as possible.

RAGBAG COLLECTION –  THURSDAY 1 JUNE

There will be a Ragbag collection next Thursday to raise funds for the school.  Please look out any old clothes/shoes/bedding/etc and fill a black bag.  On the collection morning please drop off your bag at the noticeboard opposite room 2.  Thank you.

HIGHER ENGLISH

Higher English – I will go over the SQA marking criteria for critical essays and look at how to choose the right task in the exam on Monday 9 March at 3.30. I will repeat this on Wednesday 11 March for anyone who wants to come, but can’t make Monday. Ms Adams.

S4 SCOTTISH YOUTH AWARDS

The following pupils are registered with Mr Young for Bronze-level Scottish Youth Awards. Please note that the next clinic with Mr Young will take place on Wednesday 11 March rather than 4 March as previously advertised.

All pupils must give Mr Young with an update about their progress on Wednesday 11 March in order that he can provide the appropriate support and advice.

APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES

  1. East Coast are offering 2 apprenticeship opportunities in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.  Salary £16,428 PA.
  2. GTG (Training Provider) is offering an apprenticeship opportunity in Business Administration in a range of occupations.
  3. Please see Mrs Brandie as soon as possible if you are interested in either of these opportunities.
